According to the most recent survey done by Visa e-Commerce Consumer Monitor, 82% of Malaysians do online purchase for flight tickets. This 2010 survey was based on 3,516 online interviews from countries such as China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand.

However Dr. Bernard and Cerventus caught up with Mitchell Baker, the chairperson of the Mozilla Foundation in Singapore for the Singtel : Accelerate Conference last week to talk about Mozilla role in Mobile and in Asia.

According to wikipedia, in 2005, Time magazine included her in its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Organized by Mixi, one of the top social networks in Japan launching new APIs, a service similar to Facebook Places, and breaking the news of a major alliance with CyWorld (Korea) and RenRen (China) to consolidate the social networking space in East Asia. We examine this major event in Japan similar to the scale of a Google I/O or Apple Keynote and its implications to the social networking scene in Asia. We also wish our Muslim friends in Asia a Happy Raya and discussed some of the major news that rocked the entire Asia web-tech landscape.

TWiA-logo While the Apple keynote with new iPod designs flood the web-tech space, the TWIA crew are inundated with news from the upcoming conference Accelerate (organized by E27, SingTel & Neoteny Labs) where the names of the top 50 apps are announced. Also, the crew discussed TechCrunch-Fusion Garage lawsuit, the Blackberry battle with governments, Koprol TV ad, Social Networks & 3G in India and many other issues that come online. In our studio, we have a special guest, April Yim (@aprilyim) from September Socials to tell us about her social media project in crowdsourcing dates and also with Chew Lin starting the equivalent in Singapore.
