Social Innovation Camp to Kuala Lumpur!!

UX Malaysia in partner host with Sunway University & The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation is excited to bring Social Innovation Camp to Kuala Lumpur!

From 20th -22nd September 2013 we’re bringing some of the best of Malaysian software developers and designers, to meet those at the sharp end of social problems.

They’ll have just 48 hours to build some web/mobile-based solutions to a set of social problems – from back-of-the-envelope ideas that could change the world into social start-ups – complete with working software. But first off, we start with a call for ideas: we want to find the most exciting ideas of how the web/mobile could produce change that really matters.

Social Innovation Camp

If you have the desire to change the world, you should hurry and join because the deadline for Call for Ideas is on August 20, 2013.

To register. Submit your idea that uses technology in the form of mobile, web, or hardware that can do something about the society. From the submitted ideas we will be selecting only 6 of the best ideas to proceed to the weekend.

The top team from SI Camp Kuala Lumpur will join the top teams from other cities at the end of the year for a final regional camp.

About Social Innovation Camp

Social Innovation Camp brings together software developers and designers with people who understand a social problem to help build web and mobile solutions to social challenges.

We think the web and related technologies hold huge potential to create change in many different ways: how people hold those in positions of power accountable; who they rely on to provide the services they need to live healthy, happy lives; or how they make a difference to something that affects them.

But for any of this to happen, we have to understand what people really need and start building the technology that can help – which is what Social Innovation Camp is all about.

Through unusual, creative events we bring together talented software developers and designers with social innovators to prototype effective web-based solutions to real social problems.
