Since UN Women Singapore and MasterCard launched Project Inspire: 5 Minutes to Change the World on 1 March 2012, we have been heartened by the strong interest we’ve seen across the world. We now have over 15,000 supporters joining us in support of women’s empowerment from every corner of the globe. We have also received inspirational submissions from inspired changemakers. These are 5-minute video or written proposals of ideas that enable disadvantaged women and girls to attain sustained livelihood through entrepreneurship.

The winner/winning team gets a US$25,000 grant to make their idea a reality. The women and girls whom they are seeking to empower live in Asia/Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, but the ideas can be submitted by young inspired people anywhere.
As we move into the final month before the submission deadline on 30 June 2012, and we ask for you to take action and help raise awareness for this meaningful project. Please help us spread the word by:
- Forwarding this letter to your internal networks, friends and families to encourage young changemakers to submit their proposals.
- Posting the attached PDF letter on your blogs, websites, notice boards, and Facebook and Twitter pages
Support women’s empowerment by spreading the word…

This is an important platform to raise awareness that women today still lag far behind men in access to land, credit and decent jobs, even though a growing body of research shows that empowering women has enormous socio-economic ramifications. Empowering women fuels thriving economies, spurring productivity and growth.
In 5 minutes, one idea can create the spark that will help change the world. Please play a part and join the worldwide Project Inspire community on Facebook and Twitter! We truly appreciate and look forward to your support.
