Joomla! Day Malaysia is a yearly event organised by the community, and this year, it is organised by Slashes and Dots Sdn. Bhd. together with other participating groups. Slashes and Dots are the folks behind the highly successful Joomla plugin JomSocial which enable you to turn Joomla into a private social network. This is a non-profit event and aims to provide a platform for web developers, companies and Joomla! community to learn more about Joomla!. It also serves as networking platform from Joomla! community in Malaysia with Joomla experts from the industry, as well as Joomla core team members.
Joomla is a open sourced Content Management System which enable you to run sites like Lowyat.net.

Ryan Ozimek is the President of Open Source Matters, the non-profit organization managing the Joomla! project’s legal, financial, and marketing operations. Ryan is the Co-founder and CEO of PICnet, Inc. In the eight years since the founding of the company, PICnet has grown from a graduate school idea and concept into one of the most recognized and trusted names in the open source non-profit technology field. Ryan has a BA in Communications and a Masters of Public Policy from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
Ryan will be delivering the keynote speech and will be talking about The Amazing Potential of Joomla! in 2011.
Azrul is the front runner at Slashes & Dots Sdn. Bhd. Since early Joomla days, Azrul has headed the company to provide high quality extensions for Joomla such as JomComment, MyBlog and NiceTalk. In 2007, the company released JomSocial: the game-changing social networking component for Joomla. JomSocial has successfully repositioned Joomla as the CMS of choice for those looking for all-in-one social networking tool. Azrul is passionate to read and keep up with the latest technological and web trends.
Saurabh is a frontend developer at CloudAccess.net, official host of demo.joomla.org. You will find him busy coding Joomla! templates and themes, styling Joomla! extensions, and keeping up to date with Web technologies. Saurabh has been working with Joomla! since 1.0. He is also well experienced with php, database applications, jquery, CSS and HTML. Saurabh has a master’s degree in computer science. He is active in the Pune, India community, attending & volunteering local and regional networking events and volunteering with PHPCamp, the biggest conference for PHP developers in India. He is very active on Twitter, sharing his knowledge and experience on web design & development.
Shaifful is a co-founder of Joomla.my – malaysian Joomla Community, serving the community previously as a official Malay translator. Was a hardcore Joomla user since mambo (2002), and after that Joomla! Shaifful has been supporting Joomla user through Malaysian Joomla Community website at http://www.joomla-my.org and www.joomla.my. Shaifful was also appointed as a speaker for Joomla Day Malaysia 2007 and 2008, mostly talking about Joomla SEO, security and Joomla itself.
Errazudin holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science (Sofware Engineering) and works as Senior Software Engineer at Mimos Berhad, a Malaysian government research arm, in ICT and frontier technology. Besides running and ensuring phpcoe.mimos.my alive and kicking, his day job focuses on web application development, deployment, performance and stability. He has spoken at several meetups and conferences and has worked with various back-end and web technologies for almost 10 years. In his free time he loves to emulate Rafael Nadal’s swerving forehand on court.
Kartik Trivedi is the Partner with IVMstore, a compay that provides standard and customized iPhone apps for Virtuemart Stores. Kartik has been working in Joomla! Since last 3 years and provided High end solutions keeping in mind the Quality of the product & getting it delivered on Time. He has headed several projects from concept to go-live stage for many start-ups and medium sized companies, as well as development and support of RC-CSV, which again is a Vrituemart component for inventory management.
Ankit Dave, Founder of Tailored Solutions and www.iJoomer.com based in India. By background, holding the Master’s Degree in Financial Management, worked with Non-Government Orgnization for “Entrepreneurship Development Programs” but had a fire in the belly about technology which lead him to start a venture in providing web and mobile development services specifically on Joomla, iPhone and Android platform since 2005. Today, he leads the iJoomer which is focused to bring in Joomla components on mobile apps as easy installing components in Joomla!
MyHarapan.org (Youth Trust Foundation) is sponsoring 50 students to attend JoomlaDay Malaysia 2011. Joomla Day is a great place for student to get exposure on real-world technical skills as well as to expand their network with local and oversea businesses.
