Running a business as an entrepreneur can be very daunting. There will be 10,000 issues and challenges you have to overcome on a daily basis – from getting bills paid on time to running efficient events, typically all at the same time. Here’re 5 tips from Evernote that can help you deal with these challenges:

Receipts / Expense Management
On your next business trip, whip out your iPhone/Android device and take a photo of your receipt immediately after your cab ride or meal. Collect these receipts in a notebook called “Business Trip Receipts” for review later. Evernote on iOS and Android devices have the ability of remembering your location (with the location services turned on), thus if you need to recall which receipt came from which trip, it’s easy to do a look up via the new Atlas view on Evernote for Mac, or the map view on other client versions. Now you don’t have to collect a forrest of paper in your wallet ever again.

Travel Planning & Organization

Every Evernote user account comes with a unique email address. The next time you’re booking a flight or hotel, instead of having the confirmation & boarding passes sent to your regular inbox, just have it sent directly to your unique Evernote email address. When checking in, just whip out your mobile devices and all your passes will be there in your Evernote account. Congratulations – you have just created an instant “passbook” for your flights & hotels.

Blogging

Have an idea for a new blog post, but away from your computer? Fire up the Evernote app on your device and quickly jot down your thoughts on the go. If you are driving, you can tap on the microphone icon on the iOS and Android versions of Evernote and start speaking right away. An audio note will be attached to the newly created note. Evernote will have your thoughts, written or spoken, synchronized across all the devices you own so that the moment you are back at your computer you will be able to pick up where you left off.

Remembering People & Conversations

On your next business meeting with a potential client, use Evernote to take a photo of the business card and collect those into a “Contacts” notebook. Thanks to the image recognition technology in Evernote, the words on the business card will be searchable – even if it’s handwritten. As a bonus, create a note link, and paste the link into your meeting minutes. That will give you a nice reference of the conversation you just had, and the people involved.

Event Management

Planning an event? Use Evernote to compile a checklist of to-do’s to make sure everything runs on time and on budget. What’s more, share the notebook with fellow team mates & partners and invite them to collaborate by adding notes from their respective areas of responsibilities. As a bonus, have your suppliers email invoices directly to your Evernote unique email address (see above). In that way you can capture everything you need about the event in a single notebook – from planning, production to budget management.
