A Forum to Help Entrepreneurs Raise Funding and Investment Opportunities

The MCA Innovation Resource Centre (MIRC) will be organizing the 7th Annual MIRC Funding Forum on October 2, 2012 from 9am to 4pm at Level 13, Wisma MCA. The MIRC Funding Forum is a much awaited event held annually to provide an update to SMEs on funding and financing options that is available for them. In this event, representatives from government agencies such as SME Corp and MOSTI; banks such as EXIM Bank and funding agencies such as MDV, MDeC and Cradle will be on hand to update SMEs particularly business startups on the funding and financing options available for them.

Speaking to the press today, MCA Science & Technology Bureau Chairman, YB Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha, who is also the MCA Secretary General and Minister of Transport stressed that SMEs are constantly faced with funding and financing challenges as they continue to grow and expand their businesses, they need funding. The MIRC Funding Forum aims to help SMEs to learn more about what could be their option to obtain funding and financing from government agencies, private banking and funding agencies.

“The MIRC Funding and Financing Forum is a FREE event and we urge SMEs to capitalize on this opportunity to explore what is available for them,” said Kong.

The MCA Innovation Resource Centre (formerly known as MCA ICT Resource Centre) was formed on January 1, 2005 with a mission to drive innovation and deliver business values to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) by optimizing Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) usage to achieve innovation, transformation and growth.

The Blueprint outlines MIRC’s commitments to assist and ensure that Malaysian SMEs become and remain learning, dynamic and outward looking; to enable them to overcome global challenges, improve competitiveness and move up the value chain. The MIRC SME Development Blueprint will focuses on 7 Strategic Thrusts – Infrastructure, Driving Innovation, Capacity and Capability Development, e-Enablement, Market Access, Access to Financing and Promotion of New Growth Sectors.
